PSA on Canova Road

Each day it seems that we are improving our car line procedures. However, a CCSO PSA officer stopped by and spoke with me during afternoon car line on Friday. He said that cars cannot hold up traffic on Canova Road when waiting to turn into the school to enter car line. I explained to him how our car line works and that it is getting faster, but he insisted that he will need to have cars loop around if they are not turning onto our property (he stressed that cars cannot just sit there waiting to turn). I tried my best to talk him out of that. He said that residents on Canova are complaining that they cannot get out of their driveways.

So, the first thing I will ask of you is to be super-friendly to the residents along Canova Road and be observant if they are trying to exit or enter their driveways. He also mentioned that cars cannot get through Canova Road to the traffic light. I just wanted to give you a heads up that the PSA officer may try to move traffic forward if cars are waiting to turn in. I hope he doesn't! You have all been so patient and compliant with our car line. As you know, due to COVID-19, in order to create more space between scholars in the cafeteria, we are seating upper school scholars outside, which takes away two lanes from car line. But even with that, we are improving car line time!

Again, thank you for working with us and I really hope the PSA officer doesn't try to make people loop around! No matter what, let's all display virtuous behavior.

Sincerely,

Daniel (Matt) Johnson
